Vanilla Bourbon from Madagascar

Vanilla from Madagascar is one of the most renowned vanillas in the world for its quality and its rich and complex aroma.

Madagascar is the world's leading producer of Bourbon vanilla, a name that designates vanilla produced in the Indian Ocean, particularly in Madagascar, but also in the Comoros, Reunion and Mauritius.

Vanille LAVANY is grown and cured in the bush village of Betavilona in northeastern Madagascar.

Madagascar vanilla Bourbon is prized for its fleshy, oily and highly aromatic pods, with sweet, warm and slightly woody notes. It is widely used in baking, cooking and the flavouring industry.

Vanilla Bourbon cultivation in Madagascar is a laborious and meticulous process, as the pollination of the vanilla flowers must be done by hand. Then, the pods undergo a long preparation process, including scalding, fermentation, drying and curing, which can last several months.

Madagascar's vanilla Bourbon is often considered a luxury product due to its high cost, which reflects the intensive work required for its production and its exceptional quality.
